Mary F. Fetsco has a diverse IP practice with a particular focus on litigation. Her experience includes brand enforcement and trademark infringement litigation, as well as patent licensing and infringement litigation. She is similarly well-versed in developing and implementing anti-cybersquatting strategies, preparing Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA) takedown notices, and conducting patent and trademark infringement analyses.

In addition, Mary prepares and prosecutes patent applications primarily related to software and electronic control systems, thereby advancing and protecting the value of the clients’ technologies.

Prior to joining Fitch Even, Mary was an associate at a Chicago-based IP firm, where she protected and enforced clients’ luxury brand trademarks against China-based counterfeiting operations. Mary also worked as an associate at a Midwest firm where she drafted and prosecuted patent applications for electronic control systems, turbochargers, and other mechanical components for aircraft and heavy machinery. 



Sonix Tech. Co. v. Publ'ns Int'l, Ltd. (N.D. Ill. 2013) (Fed. Cir. 2017). Represented Plaintiff patent owner in a patent infringement action, through successful appeal, involving issues related to indefiniteness and invalidity in the field of encoding information and patterns. Settlement ultimately reached.

Prepared and prosecuted domestic and international patent applications directed to key technologies for a global construction and mining equipment manufacturer.
