IP Alert: Judicial Conference Proposes Changes to the Federal Rules of Civil Procedure

The Committee on Rules of Practice and Procedure of the Judicial Conference of the United States has proposed changes to the Federal Rules of Civil Procedure. A copy of the proposed changes and accompanying commentary, which also includes proposed changes to the federal bankruptcy rules, can be accessed here. Interested members of the public may submit written comments until February 15, 2014.

Among other changes, the proposed rules would provide a presumptive limit of 25 requests for admission, and would limit the presumptive length of a deposition to six hours from the present seven hours.
