Fitch Even Partner John Naber Speaks at University of Maryland

On November 7, 2016, Fitch Even partner John M. Naber served as guest lecturer at the University of Maryland, Baltimore County, as part of a graduate-level biotechnology course on “Discovery and Development of Medical Devices.” During his presentation, John discussed some of the legal aspects of protecting intellectual property during the product life cycle of medical devices, including potential infringement exemptions for medical practitioners under 35 U.S.C. § 287(c). John also provided a general overview of regulatory and institutional requirements as well as ethical, design, and other considerations.

John is a registered patent attorney with extensive experience in patent prosecution, clearance, and opinion work and in patent and trademark portfolio management. He also counsels clients on issues that arise in corporate advertising, marketing, and product labeling and marking.
