Fitch Even Partners Participate in World IP Day Program

April 24, 2018

The Chicago-area World Intellectual Property Day program takes place on April 26 at TechNexus. This year’s World IP Day theme, “Powering Change: Women in Innovation and Creativity,” celebrates “the brilliance, ingenuity, curiosity, and courage of the women who are driving change in our world and shaping our common future." Fitch Even partner Nikki L. Little is once again serving as co-chair of the program and partner Alisa C. Simmons is a member of the planning committee.

The Chicago event will feature opening remarks by USPTO Acting Regional Director and Assistant Regional Director James O. Wilson. The first panel discussion will feature four dynamic women changemakers who are currently forging a path to access creative works. Then four successful women innovators will discuss how their innovations have changed lives. A networking reception will follow. For more details and to register for this free event, please visit the program website.

In 2000, the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) designated April 26 as World IP Day, established to increase understanding about the role that intellectual property rights play in encouraging innovation and creativity in the arts and technology. The American Intellectual Property Law Association (AIPLA) partners with WIPO and the USPTO to help expand the celebrations of World IP Day around the globe.

More information on World IP Day 2018 events and resources can be found on the WIPO website and the AIPLA website.
